A Transit Swap hacker who hacked over $23 million worth of crypto assets has refunded 70% of the funds through the help of blockchain security companies.The funds were hacked on the 1st of October however, the hacking was quickly detected by the transit finance team and several security companies.
Security companies such as Token Pocket, Bitrace, Peckshield, and SlowMist cooperated and successfully tracked the hacker’s email address and other on-chain addresses. The teams retrieved 70% of the funds within 24 hours.
The funds came back in form of Ethereum, Binance-pegged ETH, and Binance Coin. The transit finance team is still working on getting back the other 30% of the funds. Transit Swap protocol has promised to strictly check the data passed in by the user during token swap to avoid arbitrary external calls to prevent attacks.
