According to tech writer Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is reintroducing encrypted direct messaging (DMs). There are indications, in Wong’s opinion, that the social media platform will use Signal Protocol for its encrypted private communication.
Signal Protocol is mentioned in the code for the Twitter iOS app, according to images given by Manchun Wong. Wong also disclosed that the functionality is being developed for the Twitter app for Android.
