According to a news release issued today by Airwallex, Ripple partner Airwallex has engaged into a relationship with American Express to increase merchant payment acceptance possibilities.
As a result of the collaboration, Airwallex clients in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Kingdom will now be able to accept American Express card payments. They will be able to do so, for example, through online payment gateways, Xero invoice payments, and e-commerce shopping extensions.
According to Airwallex, the relationship is the consequence of client demand for the benefits of accepting American Express payments. Higher spending, higher-end clientele, and improved customer payment experiences are among the benefits listed.
According to the press release, the collaboration will leverage unique cross-border and multi-currency payment options, combining Airwallex’s technology with the comfort of paying with American Express. Customers can choose from 60 payment choices, including American Express, according to the Ripple partner.
According to a Ripple blog post, Airwallex has been a Ripple partner and RippleNet user since 2017. As a result, it uses XRP as a bridge currency in multi-currency and cross-border transactions to facilitate near-instant and low-cost remittances and settlements.
Unsurprisingly, the recent collaboration has piqued the interest of XRP influencers, who have taken to Twitter to share the news.
