The iconic cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase hopes to extend its services in Australia by providing updated services and institutional products to crypto traders. The vice president of international and business development of Coinbase, Nana Murugesan, said he is pleased with the local market. This is because building bear markets was profitable during the bull run.
The expansion started by setting up a local infrastructure that incorporated a local entity (Coinbase Australia Pty Ltd). The agency registered with the country’s financial intelligence agency, the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC, to provide crypto services.
The country will also be able to access web 3 services through the cooperation of Coinbase and RMIT University’s Blockchain Innovation Hub. Research programs will also be put up in the country through the cooperation of Coinbase and the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
